School life has started and more and more work are streaming in day by day. Felt a little depressed nearing the end of last weekend, so took the camera and went down for a short walkabout on Thursday.

I've always liked taking photographs of nature, particularly flowers. I'm not sure what's the above flowers are called, but don't they resemble a small little bouquet to you? :)

The term is coming to a close even before I knew it. So I haven't been blogging these days. Just a few quick snippets of my current life.

1. JC Orientation

I was grouped to Alphaeus (L2 sub-OG) for my orientation in VJ. A little paiseh on the first day because I couldn't pronounce my group name. LOL. Overall my group consists of three guys (including me) and the rest were girls. I guessed overall, the intake probably might have more girls than guys. The OGLs of my group were very nice, and they encouraged us a lot to mingle and know more of each other along the way. As a result, I had a very wonderful experience with my OG. Four fun-filled days with games and mass dances with my OG, and then I got to know of my CG/class allocation on Wednesday.

Part 2, or sort of for the orientation was with my class/CG. Day 1 was pretty shy and reserved stuffs. Probably the meeting of new group of people after spending days with our own OG groups. I think most of us broke the ice rather quickly after outdoor rumble on Thursday if I'm not wrong. Its an outdoor activity that the class under-went at ECP. Met one of my secondary school friend from AJ there too, as they were doing their CIP. And most of my class people are nice! :D

Orientation ended last Friday, after the mass dance @ Suntec. Crazy stuffs man! Haha. Fun, fun, fun.

2. Lectures starts!

So orientation ended, more or less it isn't that fun anymore but! Yep. Haha. My timetable was still rather okay I feel, most days ending around 4+ 5+. Exception is late reporting at 0840 on Mondays. Earlier days would be Monday and Wednesday, 1430 and 1330 respectively. However, I think I would be having CCA on Wednesday, so yep. Oh yes! On the CCA part, I've decided on photography and interact club. Lectures wise, for math and chemistry the lectures are on two different topics each week. That means learning two topics concurrently per week. I had my first official econs lecture today and I think I might like econs, haha.

3. CNY!

Today was a short day in school. Friday's a "Tie-day" where the whole colleges are required to wear the tie to morning assembly. But its only for a little while in the morning I guessed, so wasn't that bad. I only had an econs lecture for the morning, then it was all CNY celebrations performance in the hall. We were released rather early, around 11 or so I think. So the Xinmin people gathered at the area underneath the treehouses there and took 55 back to school. Met a lot of old classmates and friends, a little nostalgic the least to say. Went to kovan for bowling with most of the 401 people. Dinner was ala carte at Aaron's grandma's place there. Talked and crapped a lot, and different people showcasing their school's mass dances. Truth or dare before we left.

Tomorrow would be the eve, followed by Sunday which is Chinese New Year. So,

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR! In advance.

BEST OF HEALTH TO EVERYONE! :D

Start

JC life's a blast!
I love VJ!

:D

New skin

Hello! I'm very happy and contented as I did better than I aimed for, which I was rather surprised actually. So on Tuesday, I decided to head to NYJC and NJC open house. Went to NY on myself and saw a lot of familiar faces there. Walked around to check out their campus facilities as well as their students too. Overall, I feel that NY is a vibrant college with good facilities, as I think they just upgraded their campus. Didn't spend much time there, so trained back to Bishan and went to eat lunch at Mac. Met up with Aaron at Newton MRT and waited for 171 to NJC. Nich Khaw came along as we were waiting for the bus. I think we were supposed to sign up at their website if we wanted to have guided school tours, so in the end we just walked around the campus on our own. Went to their library area and saw a open house guide lady student, so chat for awhile with her. Saw familiar faces there too, haha.

Took 74 back to school. After getting my results on Mon, I didn't have the chance to find my teachers to thank them for their guidance, so went to look for several of my subject teachers and thanked them.

Yesterday, Wednesday 13/01/2010.

Went to RJ open house and SA open house. Was late, so met up with Aaron and Nich Khaw at the campus itself. They were at the registration booth waiting for me, so sorry! Saw Xiaoqi and Liwen as well. It's a guided tour so we were brought around to visit the campus and also their various cca booths and facilities. Talked to their student and cleared some myths and stereotypes that we used to have. Next, solo mio went to SA. Pretty cool, SA village haha. Walked around to look at their CCA booths and facilities.

Then trained back to Sengkang to have lunch. Bought mentos and headed back to school again! Haha. Managed to find a few more teachers that I haven't thanked previously. All the department CCA days has been changed to the same Wednesdays and Fridays I guessed, so pretty lively now. Irdianty went back as well! Haha. Went over to photo department to talk to them, and realized they are having a theory test. So I took it and I think I could had failed it too, LOL. Various teachers that saw me returning would ask me, "Very eng now hor?" Haha. Pretty true!

Still considering my choices for the JCs currently. Hopefully by tonight I could submit my JAE. And of coz, pray hard that I get into the JC I want. :)

Pasir Ris Park BBQ

09/01/2010, Saturday

Supposedly a class-gathering and BBQ, but the attendance was rather pathetic. Nonetheless, pretty fun still! Haha. Brought along beehoon and walked to pit 15 at around 3.40pm. Called Yong Jian to ask of their location, then was told that Wei Ting and Nad had arrived already. So gave Wei Ting a call and slowly saw them walking to the pit. Chatted under the vibrant sun and soon Yong Jian and Plato came along as well. Zenson and Michael came next. Last few guys were Deshawn, Daniel, Zheng Dong, Junlin and Ryan. Its a chore to start the fire at the pit due to the strong seabreeze, so Michael went to Downtown East there to purchase lighters after all our matches burnt out, as well as some disposable utensils that we found we were lacking. Kudos to Wei Ting, managed to get one firestarter lit and started off from there. Along the way took pictures and stuffs, talked crapped and reminding each other of the holy Monday. Drinks went out fast, so midway Yong Jian, Deshawn and I went to Cheers to get more 1.5litres. Oh yeah, the girls went off pretty soon around 7 or so, so became an all-guys BBQ session haha. Too much chicken wings I guessed. Playing soccer at the damn big open field. Goal posts? Any two trees in between at the opposite end of each side calls a shot. Chasing the ball in the dark is rather fun actually, also results in a chain-collision. Lucky I had the mud. Went back to the pit and played Truth or Dare haha. I realized I'm always lucky with this. Not much of shocking truths, just pity Daniel for dares. Oh ya, before I forget, Daniel dug his own grave when he had to take photo with a person dressed in a bee suit. There was another lady in a snow white suit as well. Don't ask me why, haha. He suggested a round of blackjack and the loser had to ask if he could take a picture with the bee. The winner would then take a picture with the snow white. Junlin was the lucky winner, haha. Went off at around 10.

These days, I feel that I don't know who I am already. Friday, Hwee Kiang was right. I had changed somehow. Saying all these wasn't that I'm feeling emo or influenced by others that might have the same feelings of themselves, but rather somehow I do see the change. Coarse language that I shun away previously, all those bad habits seemed to have return somehow. This isn't what I want. But thankfully, I still found little bits and pieces of me that are true still. Talking to a friend whom shares similar perspectives and character helped.

I hope to find myself back again.

Before I get my results

Probably my last week of the holidays, as I would be getting my results next Monday and I don't think I should still be playing amidst waiting for my posting. Much of this week, I returned back to school to see my CCA group in action. Tuesday, like what Arnold had said, I'm someone who has nothing to do, found out that the AVA crew would be having a dry-run for the Sec1 Campfire Night set-up. So decided to head back with Arnold, Wei Jie and Chor Sheng. Did some observations and mainly talking to the rest of the kids. Dinner was fried rice at the coffeeshop opposite. We waited long and the food weren't good.

Wednesday, after looking at what happened for the crew on Tuesday, Arnold and I decided to revisit again to help out a little. But before that, went to Tampines Mall after lunch to collect my spectacles with mum. Wei Jie was in the area as his lecture was over, so met-up with him and went back to XMS after that. Rest of the department were doing logistics work while the campfire crew prepared for their dry-runs and set-ups. Arnold did most of the guidance work, so Wei Jie and I pretty much watched on and helped a little at times.

Friday, which was yesterday, as mum had arranged, I went to NSC after breakfast. National Skin Centre, not Nikon Service Centre. Haha. Grandma had an appointment at 0945 to check her skin rashes and stuffs. I was pretty surprised to find a seat at that time of the day on the train. Despite all the instructions from mum earlier on, I still found myself pretty lost there. Grandma was already in one of the waiting rooms with the nurse I guessed, so the doctor came pretty quick and examined a little. The whole consultation ended in less than 5 minutes I guessed. Next, went to the pharmacy to collect the medicine with the prescription given. The nurse advised me a thing or two on what to do, some quite thankful haha. Mum had told me what to take and what not to, so think its pretty smooth sailing. 10am, I was out. Took the train to Yio Chu Kang and waited for 72 back to school. Reached around 1115, and saw people from the various aesthetics group preparing for their CCA orientation booths I guessed. Talked to agent206, pretty funny guy from band for a little. Moved to the canteen and saw my Physics Teacher Mr Tay! eating. So joined him at his place and talked a little. 1215, or slightly later, met up with G at the canteen. They headed out for lunch, and since my stomach wasn't feeling that well, lunch was two sugar donuts and popiah. Talked to G a little and checked out with her on some necessary details for the campfire. Sounds pretty good overall. 1350 or so, the crew began their dry-weather set-up. Everything was pretty good, except for the issues on the power extensions. In between, went to the CCA booth to check things out too. AVA corner still seemed to be the most neglected side again as usual. Roy and Kaide came back shortly. Just as most of the crew were having their dinner, the sky started to drizzle, so we rushed to carry the speakers and equipment back in. Thankfully, the downpour came after all the things were kept indoors. Wet-weather plan was on for the night, so the kids went to the hall for the final preparations. Had dinner with Kaide and Wei Jie opposite before that too. Gene, Irdianty and Arnold came back shortly also. Halfway through, went out to meet Wei Sze at the coffeeshop. Rest of the night, spent time slacking at the comp lab. Did silly stuffs again, like doing suicides in the parade square for no reasons haha. Just like the old days.

Class gathering + BBQ later at Pasir Ris Park. I just pray for my stomach to be okay.

And I hope to be smiling on Monday too.

2010

As most of the people would be back in school by now, I'm still waiting for my results release which could happen sometimes next week I guessed. As the dates draw nearer, I couldn't help but worry what if I didn't do well enough. But I think worrying isn't going to change things either. As they say, you reap what you sow. I'm kind of looking forward to the new environment somehow. Many worked during the holiday, but I didn't do much. Perhaps thats why I feel I should get back to school soon, rather than going out too much.

I was reading some of my blog post archives just, the one I had before I went on a hiatus around July. Looking back, things were much more different. Perspectives, environment, feelings and thinkings. I know its a little late now, but perhaps I should review a little on my 2009 year.

2009 year was the 'O' Levels year. I'll never forget how we were welcomed with remedial lessons everyday and also the weekly Wednesdays and Fridays common tests. Perhaps due to the sudden increase in workload, many were pinned down. Appeals to the school to tone down the remedials and common tests, even to an online petition. But hey, I guessed after awhile things started to pick up and we all got used to it, and I had to say those remedials and common tests really help in the end. In the midst of revision and remedials, I fondly remembered looking forward to the periods before lessons starts, recess and after school. I was very fortunate during that time as I had her, somehow the motivation for me to keep going. Seeing her during those three periods mentioned brightened up my day. Waiting for her outside her class during recess, mugging at the Xinfony Terrence/library, food and running from one end of the corridor to the other before the bell rings as our classes were directly at two different ends. All these are memories now, but still I'm thankful for what I had before.

2009, the passing of a friend. Life is never fair, of how a young lady with dreams yet to fulfill was taken away. A fighter, never giving up till the very end. Forever lives in our heart.

2009, I had learnt that we were never contented with what we have, only to realize that we had so much after we had lost them.

New year resolutions?

2010, I just hoped to cherish my loved ones and what I have, and put in my best for life.

Everyday's a gift, not a given right.

Goodbye 2009, Hello 2010!

Happy New Year!

Not so much of Merry X'mas, of coz.

(:

Update

Hello! Very sorry for neglecting this space, so here's a quick and short update! :D

1. Media Club Leadership Camp 2009 (19 - 21 December)

Booked in on the 18th (Friday) for Day Zero. Met up with Wei Jie and Arnold at 1000, settled in and went Plaza Sing to get a few more logistics. Practically running around during the whole camp for the preparations of various activities, logistics and food etc. Seemed disorganized at times, but things get done mostly on time. Pretty tired out, but seeing how the campers participated proactively in the camp, I guessed all the efforts were worth it. :)

2. Little kiddos visit. (23 December)

Mum called some of my little cousins over to my place to have some sort of a pre-X'mas party. Food, sweets and toy guns. Yes, I'm pretty glad that my toy guns from the past come in handy! Haha. Walked over to Bottle Tree Park in the afternoon and had some drinks. There's a playground over there with a swing. Its been ages since I last sat on a swing. And seeing how the kids played, all the troubles and woes, worries and whatsnot seemed to be flunked all the way out. Just that moment of innocence. If only we could not grow up.

3. Christmas gang! (25 December)

Hello X'mas. As planned, went to Orchard to see lights with the some of the Leadership Camp Comm. (Chor Sheng, Wei Jie, Irdianty, Arnold, Wei Sze). Waited for Chor Sheng to knock off from work at 1820 before walking around in Taka to find a dining place. In the end, we decided to walk to Plaza Sing to get our dinner. This is my first time walking down Orchard Road during X'mas, so yep. Talked and crapped along the way. Went to Manhattan fish market for dinner, then went home.

4. Badminton (26 December)

Played badminton at Cheng San CC with Daniel, Deshawn and Yong Jian. Its been awhile since I touched the racquet. Pretty good experience. Oh yes! Daniel's shuttlecocks are really good.

5. 05' Class Gathering

Okie, its not really a gathering. Met up with Mabel and Clarinda at AMK MRT. Trained to Orchard and went to Seoul Garden for lunch! I remembered last time I went Seoul Gard was during the time before I went for my study break. Spammed a lot of chicken! Thanks Mabel for helping to clear much of it also. Wei Ting came halfway, then went off at around 1500. Decided to walk to 313 Somerset to find Gasper. Crapped a little with him, then Joseph came as well. Went to Uniqlo afterwards, then movie was supposed to be next on the list. But I forgot to bring my specs this afternoon, so sorry! Thought of going to either Wei Ting or my place to watch DVD, but afterwards we decided to head to National Museum to see the Mummy exhibition! Suggestion by Mabel and Joseph haha. So trained to Dhoby Ghaut and walked there. Admission was free for students I think, so thats the start of our "Educational Tour" of the day. The exhibits were mainly on the artifacts like statues, and also mummies of small crocodiles and a mummy. Pretty interesting, students may want to visit as its complimentary. Went to other exhibits before leaving. Trained back to AMK with Mabel, Clarinda and Joseph. Hawker centre, ordered half chicken and sugar cane. Talked alot haha, just like the old days.

Going for badminton tmr morning, and hopefully afternoon I could get some house keeping done. Tmr's 29 already, soon the year closes. Perhaps I could talk more about it tmr or smth.

Till then, good night.
Oh wait!

3.4i V8, Honda HSV (Honda Sports Velocity) for Super GT. Oh yes, I continued the DVD I was watching last night too. Its a rather old film I think, titled "Black Hawk Down". Basically its a war movie of sort, but I think one can learn alot about leadership and humanity from the movie, at least in my opinion. The DVD's duration was rather long though. Leave no man behind, thats to take away haha.

Afternoon, it started raining after I came back from lunch. Confirmed about the swimming at Anchorvale swimming complex with Benjamin as the sky cleared shortly after. Lucky me, Dad gave me a call just as I was about to step out of the house. He was in the area, so I got to get a ride there. Reached at around 2.45pm and waited. You know some McDonalds, they have this bench where the Ronald McDonald sat? I'm sort of thankful today as I sat beside him till 3.15pm. Ben was a lil late as he was helping his mum out with something, and occasionally I got stares from passer-by. Right, so that bench wasn't for sitting? LOL. And I only know today that the figure wasn't really secured to the bench. My leg slightly pushed "his" leg and his body shifted, causing his hand to touch my shoulder. Silly me got startled. LOL.

Swam a little, slid a little and talked a lot. Went to Mac to get a McFlurry before walking to Compass there to take bus to IMH.

And yes, this Friday I'm granny-sitting.

Badminton, movie.

Hello! I just realized my blog posts doesn't have dates accompanying them.

Yesterday, Tuesday (8/12/09)

As discussed, met Yong Jian, NJL and Yuxin at Hougang Sports Hall for badminton. When we arrived at the courts, there was a group of adults playing. Its pretty weird as when they saw us, a friendly auntie came forward to tell us that their game was finishing. At least she's friendly. So after awhile, around 5 minutes I think, we started playing as they cleared. Its been quite awhile since I last played badminton. June was the last I could recalled. I used to play badminton alot when I'm a little younger, but guessed due to the lack of badminton kaki nowadays, my skills kind of rusted already.

Our court was from 10 to 11 in the morning, but after 11 no one seemed to have booked the court, so we continued playing. We ended at around 1215 and slacked. Chatted and crapped, then around 1250 moved off. Initial plan was to meet at AMK hub at 2pm to catch New Moon at 2.30pm, but we had to catch the 3.30pm one as we couldn't make it in time.

Went to Yong Jian's place to shower and change before heading out. NJL was joking that I'm heading off to play badminton after the movie as I was still holding on to the racquet, haha. Met with the group, including Yuxin's sister @ Mac. Yong Jian and NJL played a little virtua tennis on PSP before we went to the cinema. Sheesh, I guessed its been a long time since I last bought pop corn from cinemas, and I think its kind of expensive. But I wished the counter crew Merry X'mas before leaving! Hall 5, the advertisement were still showing.

(Of vampires, wolves and a desolated lady)

Before I watched this movie, I've heard of how people said this movie wasn't that great as the first one, or it does not much tally with the real story from the book. I've read the Twilight Series of books last year, so probably catching it up was reasonable. No offence to the die-hard twilight fans, but I had to agree that the movie wasn't awesome. In fact, its boring. Lucky for friends, we crapped halfway in the movie quietly. NJL was saying how she paid $6 to see Taylor Lautner, whom played the character Jacob in the movie taking off his shirt most of the time and revealing his buffed-up upper torso. I was looking forward to Jane, played by Dakota Fanning. The young guy in me was disappointed. Instead, I think Alice looked so much better. Oh yes! As compared to the first film, Edward drove a Volvo XC70 now instead. I think the C30 was still better. Alice drove two, one is a black AMG if I'm not wrong, and the other yellow porsche 911. I think these cars are more exciting instead. The ending was priceless, for we didn't even know the show finished until the lights came on. LOL. It was that abrupt. Eclipse is next year? We'll see then haha.

After the movie, walked around before going to AMK library to return my storybooks. Went in to slack a little, while we discussed our plans softly. We realized most of the people were either working or were overseas already. The four of us were the few ones left available. Yuxin left earlier as she had to fetch her little sis. Meanwhile, we continued discussing and somehow came to an idea. Haha, it would be exciting and fun I guessed.

:)

Lastly, I moved on. Heh.

Thanks you NJL. LOL!

Image: Wikipedia.org

.

I waited. Hah. Woke up at 8 and watched a little TV before meeting my friend's little brother for table tennis. Been years since I held the bat and took quite some time to warm it up. Anyway it was a rather relaxed morning spent. We chatted and played at the same time. I went off around 10 to tapao breakfast for myself. Then spent some time slacking and reading up on a camera backpack details online that I had my eyes on. Today's seemed a little weird actually, as for the past five days I had been working at Serangoon there. Its been five days since I could slacked like this somehow, hah. Kind of missed working.

Anyway, waited for mum to be back as I need more financial support for the bag. Took 857 and jammed quite awhile to Marina Square. Oh yeah, I tried Tekken 6 on my PSP during the bus ride. Somehow the story mode is very short, around 5 stages I think. Went to CP and stood there. Waited for like 10 minutes and none of the staff came to ask me what I needed. A little outraged, I had to grab a staff's attention while he served another customer. Mum was a little upset for the fact that another older staff served a man that just came in rather than us, whom had waited for awhile. The deal was done in less than 5 minutes. Isn't that good? For that 10 minutes of waiting. Fortunately, the courteous salesperson that closed the deal saved it all. Anyway I think this is a rather common sight here I believed. This sad truth in Singapore reminds me that I should study and work hard in life, so that at least I look a little more well-to-do in the future. And hopefully I get served before that angmoh. Hah.

Met my Ahyi and my little cousin and had lunch. My little cousin is 7 this year, but she seemed 5 somehow. If we could all stay that innocent. Walked around and trained to Sengkang to visit grandma. Then went to bedok to visit my grandmother.

Tomorrow, I'll be going for a cousin's wedding lunch.

Nice day. I went out at around 8.10am and reached the place at around 8.55am. Today's work more or less is in continuation of yesterday's data-entry assignment. We had to key in the particulars of the students, particularly their names in English and Chinese. As their names were handwritten, some of the characters were rather difficult to make out. Lucky for us as there was a chinese programme where u could write and it would decipher the word for you. Saved us quite alot of time actually.

Before lunch, there was an other assignment for invigilation. I was the odd one out during the ohbeysom game among Yuxin and Davis, so went to jagar the children taking the test. Pretty new experience, although the class size is only 3, but invigilation seemed rather seng nang. Collected the papers and went back to my data entry work.

Lunch happened at around 12. Oh, we were transferring games to our PSPs before that. The day before, we agreed that we would bring our PSP and link play. We refers to NJL, Yuxin, Davis and myself. We tried Virtual Tennis and Outrun, but didn't played much too in the end. It was pouring as we walked out for lunch. When we reach McDonalds, we were all drenched. Davis joked that his pants became hot pants already. Fishes could swim in my shoes. Anyway, it was a treat from the boss for the hardwork, plus today is the last day to redeem all the instant wins of the McDonalds monopoly game. In total, we had 6 packets of small fries I think. And this is how it looked like:

(Mountain of fries)

Oh yeah, while they were buying the food, there was a little boy at the window near our seat. Yuxin seemed to be good with kids, as she let the child traced his hand on the window along with her hand. The food came and we ate. Each of us had a meal. Yuxin and NJL had the new grill chicken burger while I had McSpicy and Davis had fillet. Played a little PSP while waiting for food.

(Lunch!)

After lunch, walked back and finished up on the data-entry work. Oh yeah, we placed our umbrellas on the floor outside the classroom as they were wet. I think the wind was too strong, and it blew all the umbrellas up to a position like this:

(Umbrellas galore)

Haha, pretty funny and interesting. All the work was completed at around 7.15pm. Had to clear out all the soft-copy data on all the computers before leaving. Took a couple of group photos before leaving the place. Davis have the pictures. So after that took 317 to Chomp Chomp for dinner with Wei Ting, Davis, NJL and Yuxin. Ordered chicken wings, hokkien mee, tau huey, and the huge glass of sugarcane juice that cos $3. The food was splendid haha, but didn't managed to take any pictures. Davis had I think, so yep. Wei Ting left midway as she's flying off tomorrow morning, so the four of us ordered the big, big sugarcane juice and shared haha. Meanwhile, we gossiped and chattered.

Went off around 9.50. NJL's bus always seemed to come first. Yuxin, Davis and myself took 136 back to AMK. Went separate ways afterwards.

So there goes, my 5 days of work done. Overall, I had to admit that this job isn't tiring, but its a little boring. But when we gossiped, crapped, sing along with random songs from everyone's phone, time kind of flew as we worked. Learnt the fact that money is hard to earn, and I would certainly think twice now before buying anything now. Good experience!

Now I'm done with my work, probably I should deal with some issues that had been lingering on me for a while. I need to know, and to move on.

Good night.

Fourth day

Another day at work. Pretty much the same. Today's work involves keying in of the scores of the candidates.

The only thing special is today's lunch! We agreed after knocking off from work yesterday that each of us would bring a food item and have a mini pot luck session. NJL brought rice, sotong balls and two sunny side-ups sort. Yuxin brought hot-dogs, Yong Jian brought drinks and I had with me some fish nuggets, meatballs and mushrooms. The pot luck lunch turned out to be fun! Haha. Quite a fresh experience, didn't had pot luck sessions for quite a long time already.

Tomorrow is the last day of work already. Anyway, below are some pictures of the pot luck

(Drinks from Yong Jian!)

(NJL home-cooked egg! Today was my third day at work. Pretty same routine like the past two days, but I guessed work is getting fun instead haha. Today's work involved marking the papers. We were all given answer sheets of course, so practically the first few pieces were slow. Slowly, as we memorized the answers, things started to get better and faster. There was a heavy rain during lunch time, but that didn't hindered.

I think tomorrow would be some data entry work. Well, at least after three days of working I realized something to look forward to during work are two things; One, lunch time. Two, off from work.

Lunch time, eating with Yong Jian, NJL and Yu Xin was joyous. Eat, gossip and laughters.

Going home, watching how NJL chases her bus, Yu Xin telling us more about her India exchange programme partner and squeezing with the rush hour pack on the train. Although a little tired, but I really feel the joy of working with people you like.

Two more days, lets go!

Work

Today was my second day at work. My five-day job this week includes sorting out of Chinese papers from different primary schools, marking, data-entry and shredding of the papers. The past two days were spent on sorting. Stuffs we did include erasing and shading the right particulars on the OAS answer sheet for the primary school kids. I think pretty much of them were not really used to shading sheets, could see stuffs like pen shading, different boxes shaded and multiple options being shaded in one question. We had to spend the days correcting them and ensuring that the information written are accurate. This job was recommended by Wei Ting, one of my classmate and along were NJL, Yu Xin and Yong Jian. There were a few others that Wei Ting knew as well.

This is my first time since living on this Earth for more than 16 years that I worked. I woke up at 7 each morning and took the train at 8 in the morning. I've never experienced the rush hour on train, and I realized how packed the trains are in the morning. Now I see the point of having seatless carriages. The working adults mostly read their newspaper, while some fortunate ones catch a few last minute doze on their seats. I had the music in my ear as the train wobbled.

First day, lunch was packed lunch which we went dutch. Today lunch, went to Serangoon Central there with Yong Jian, Yu Xin and NJL. Haha. I realized after doing this job, I understood money doesn't come easy. Although the job wasn't much tiring, but at least I see that its not easy to earn money. How we thought and joked that our lunch cost us one hour of our job.

Three more days left for the work. Zhou gang, jia peng, zhou gang, pang gang!*. Quite routine, at times boring. But at least I had the benefit and bonus of working with the people I know and like working with.

Perhaps that was why despite the long hours sitting, I found joy in the work. How working with the ones I knew with laughters, towards a common goal. Walking to the MRT station after work, seeing NJL chases her bus twice like an auntie. ;x

Its the people, always. =)

*Refers to work, eat and work and finish work in hokkien respectively.

Not available

I will be working next week, Monday to Friday.
See you.

Hah

Two morning back, I woke up smiling. So here's a quick one on what happened to me recently.

Met up with Davis on Monday at Bugis after lunch. We went to the Tai Sing showroom near Bugis there to check out plastic car model kits. After several considerations on our budget, he decided to share cost for two fujimi kits as they are having a promotion on one free for every purchased, within the same cost. Pretty good deals. Walked to National Library afterwards and went looking for books. There were interesting people I met these days. One guy came to ask me how many decks does the "double-decker" bus printed on my shirt has. Pretty taken aback, but it was all in good-will I guessed. Then there's this guy holding one white, big ball. I think it was for well-wishes for our nation for the upcoming year I guessed. Oh yes, something exciting happened afterwards which I shall not mention. Just remember to return the book in one piece and on time, Davis. Met up with my cousin at orchard for dinner. Walked around and had a great chat with him haha.

Tuesday morning was spent swimming at Aaron's place. Supposedly a swimming lesson for Aaron, but much time was spent talking and relaxing together. Read a book and had a little tan, which turned out not that little actually. Went to Kovan for lunch around 2+, then went separate ways. Oh yes, went to SKP to purchase a budget kite and went kite-flying at Anchorvale there with Davis. Poor, inexperienced us didn't know how to get the kite fixed up properly. There was this very friendly uncle there that helped us alot. Turns out the metal rod was too long. Initially we did manage to get the kite up for a while, but subsequently everything kind of crashed. Went to Aunt's place afterwards. My shoulder was badly burnt, and I guessed my father only remembered that I went kite flying, so he asked why didn't I wear a shirt while flying a kite. (?) Haha.

Wednesday, I lazed at home as my whole body burns.

Yesterday, met up with Sis at 11+ am and went to Esplanade library as she wanted to borrow some DVDs. Went to Cineleisure afterwards and had sushi. Thanks for the treat, Sis! Haha. Then went back to aunt's place and we tried to transfer CSS to her laptop. Took around one hour and played for only 15 minutes. It was a chore playing using the track pad.

Rushed back home, freshened up myself and went to take 854 back school for meeting. A little late, then we continued our discussion on the camp. It's going to be fun.

Today?

I woke up smiling. It was just a simple dream, but at least I'm no longer tormented by the past. I look forward to the future so much now.

Pool later I guessed. The one without the need for SPFs under our Sun.

Oh yes, I forgot to mention that Final Fantasy XIII looks wicked.

The trailer was awesome.

Weekend des

Saturday, 21 November 2009

As the clock strike 12, I got an SMS from Weide asking if I want to play basketball and stay-over at Wei Ming's place on that day. Coz its 12 luh, so technically speaking its that day. Saturday morning was spent continuing on my car model kit. Had lunch with my family at around 1+ pm and Dad fetched me to Seng Kang CC. There were quite a number of people there as I think they are having some job recruitment for the senior citizens. Some of them were playing already, then slowly joined in the game. I realized its been a long while since I last played basketball, so most were empty hoops. When the place got a little crowded after a while, we moved to the basketball court near Anchorvale CC to play. Along the way there were some slight drizzle, but luckily the much dreaded downpour didn't came. Played till around 5.40pm and went off to meet Mum at IMH. Went to Bedok afterwards.

Sunday, 22 November 2009

I'm getting lazier by the day. With each morning, I lazed more and more about the bed. I never felt the luxury of having time for ample sleep so much. Worked on the car model abit and went for breakfast. Swimming at Safra next and the weather is so beautiful today! Just the amount of sun and wind I needed! Leisure swim and went off around 11+am. Walked to Northpoint and had lunch there. Bought a DVD because it was on sale and went home. The movie was "Shooter", a film released for quite a while already actually. Pretty cool movie, talks about this guy whom was an ex-US marine sniper getting framed and on the run, which then tries to clear his name. Went off to AMK to enquire about the flash diffuser dome for SB600, but didn't managed to get one in the end. Took 88 to IMH there to visit my grandma.

Not much plans for the upcoming week. One step at a time I guessed.

Oh yes! Below are some pictures of the car model that I've been working on.

(My work desk. One year back, I shared my rather unrealistic dream with someone close, well used to. But looking back, that seemed to be rather impossible actually. But the part on giving back to the society still stays. One day while I was getting a lift from my father to Compass point to meet my friend, along the way we saw a peugeot coupe. He told me to work hard and I could get what I want in the future. Two nights ago, while on the expressway back home, I saw a GTR cruising past on the first lane. And this morning, while cycling to and back from Yishun Dam, I thought maybe being alone at times wasn't that bad actually.

And the point? Well I thought I'd work hard and save up to get my license, and my first car. It need not be the powerful Godzilla, that posh Porshe or even a blue EVO that I yearn to attain in the future. It would be great if I could have a Mazda Miata. Though it isn't that powerful, I guessed power isn't really everything. I would buy the topless coupe and drive through the wee hours of the night. My own pace, no boundaries as I cruise responsibly down the road. No worries, no troubles. Just the car and I. Even having a companion or not on the left seat isn't that important to me already I guessed.

Perhaps my thinking might change a few years down, or maybe a few weeks later. But at least for now, this is what I have in mind...

:)

Image from: www.rsmazda.com

TGIF

Friday, 20 November 2009

Today marks the first week of my post exam. Looking back, I think time really does flies. Anyway, today was also the first day where I didn't have a pre-planned day schedule. Plans were made for the past few days that I had spent, but today was one of those where I woke up without having even one single agenda for the day. Its been a long, long time since I had such a luxury of doing so actually. No more intensive mugging, exercises on TYS etc. etc. Although I had read about how people continued doing their TYS after the 'O' Levels, but I doubt I would do such a thing. I think I deserve this break.

Slept till around 8+ this morning and had breakfast before mum went off for her part-time work. Sat in front of the screen and did my usual surfed on those forums and websites I frequent. Came 10am, I suddenly thought of going to Yishun Dam for some photography. It was one of my plans during the Wednesday afternoon I believed, but was shelved in the end. So I hurriedly maintained my bicycle and packed the necessary equipment before heading out. Took me a good 13 minutes or so to cycle there. Halfway through, the sky started to drizzle a little and I took the gamble to continue on. As I reached the location and stopped, I realized the importance of working out and keeping fit already. I'm more or less out of my breath with my whole shirt soaking. Took a couple of pictures here and there, but didn't really have the idea or theme to follow on. There was this stray dog that I came upon there, who seemed to be undisturbed by the traffic there, oblivious to its surroundings and took the road for its own. And I think he liked me, as I gather whether should I sacrifice my tripod should it chase after me. Luckily the worst didn't happened. Just before I left, there's this guy on a bike that asked me for directions. Cycling back was much better as compared to the journey there I thought. It might be the fact that there were more downhills I guessed. I thought I was so lucky this morning, because just after I carried my bicycle back into the house, the unexpected downpour came. It would be so disastrous if I was caught in that. The second lucky chance was after I uploaded the pictures from the camera. Just as I swung my chair around, the hand-bar kind of grabbed the camera strap along and the camera bungeed from the table. So lucky, as I managed to grab it by the strap and saving it from the impact. In the end I got a slight cut on my hand from the attempt. Guessed its the price for being so careless.

After lunch, I managed to finally start on working the 3rd 1:24 plastic car model kit that I bought before the examinations. Hoped to achieve a better end-product this time round, as previously those models weren't really that realistic due to the lack of respective paints and liveries. This time round, I decided to give it a try at painting. Hope everything turns out well in the end.

Late afternoon was spent visiting my grandma at IMH area. If I hasn't mentioned, she's currently residing in one of the nursing homes in that area, so you would probably find me frequenting that area quite often. I found myself uncontrollably napping for awhile on the chair. And it kind of brought back memories from the past, also around this time of the year. Guessed I could really sleep when there's nothing else to do. Memories do flash back once in awhile, and I guessed its only natural. But the difference now is that it no longer haunts me now. I look forward to my new perspective and direction now... :)

Tomorrow is a Saturday. Perhaps I could finish up the car model kit real soon. Will post pictures up once its done! Meanwhile, below are some photographs taken this afternoon:

(I used to love taking photographs of flowers in the past...)

(Solitude)

(What a wonderful world...)

(Serious curves ahead.)

(?)

(Two wheels)

Good night.

Prom

Wednesday, 18 November 2009

For all the walking and shopping, it all boils down to this day. Anyway, I woke up with having prom as the only plan of the day as I had mentioned. Then I realized if I had pretty much time to spare in the early afternoon, perhaps I could return back to my secondary school to attend a holiday CCA session. So around 11.10, went out and took 854 to school wearing my CCA shirt. I'm very happy to see Y, still as hyper as ever while he greeted me. Its been a long time since I last saw such energy that exists. Only a few key position holders of my department were at the Media Factory doing some recording work. I was actually expecting the whole department, but still its great to know that they are participating in competitions nowadays. A few chatters here and there, and left the place at 2pm. Lunch with my family at Fernvale and returned home.

I was having a conversation online with Wei Ping, discussing about the plans for the night. What time to reach, what would happen to that mask theme etc. My prom night, or grad nite was accompanied with a theme called Masquerade. Everyone has to don a mask for the night. My father gave me a lift to the hotel and I saw various familiar faces as I entered the lobby. Wei Ping, Wei Ming, and a few others 205 guys were already there. Had a great time chatting with them. We were rather surprised to see that our table were actually just next to the table that the 205 girls are sitting when we registered, as we did not really make a statement about it. Luck or fate, I thought we could had talked more with the chance sitting close to each other. Lots of transformations on the day. All turned into fine ladies and gentlemen for the night, dressed beautifully and smart respectively. As more people streamed into the ballroom, Jo and I waited outside for Wenbin and Weide. As the event rolled, most of us had a great time talking and joking around with each other. Guessed we hadn't really grew up from our lower secondary. All were good, clean fun. Bun, Wei Ming and Wenbin were the big bosses with their black suits while Weide was the mafia. Along the way came a few photo-taking, though it wasn't really a lot. Then came the lucky draw sessions. The only lucky guy was Bun in our table, who won a soft toy kind of shoulder massager I guessed. Pretty funny as we complained how the number could had missed ours by 1 or 2. Some were pretty close actually. The food was okay still I guessed, but I feel the most important aspect of the night was the people and the atmosphere. Fun and engaging I would say. Prom king and queen nominations were pretty exciting. YS nearly took it, while S screamed her lungs out. Weide and I were holding our bladders as we waited the chance to hit the toliet after the prom king and queen noms. The waiter was very efficient in topping up the coke in our glasses, so much so that we went to the gents for at least 5 times last night. Then came the grad nite video, which was a picture montage of our past years spent in the school. Managed to catch a few familiar faces here and there, and some paiseh moments as well.

There was this dance segment in the end where some took to the dance floor, while most of us were busy taking photographs with our classmates of four years in school. Didn't really take much pictures on my camera though, so probably I'll upload a few here. Most were with the 205 guys. Class 401 got to take a few class photos with our form teacher Mr Rod as well.

And I headed back home, thankful for my family for fetching me despite in the late hours of the night.

More or less this sums up my four years of secondary school education in the school. There were times where I had undergone vigorous activities that drained most of me, such as like my CCA, but most importantly I had forged valuable friendships. In my CCA, from my lower sec and upper sec classes. All the ups and downs, conflicts and scandals that came along, we held on till the end. They always said 401 had the worst class spirit, but I certainly beg to differ. It was one great class with interesting classmates that made up the whole picture. I'm thankful to have known all these mates for the past two years.

With this, I move on to the next chapter of my life.

Pictures gallore,

<img Overall the night was fabulous. Good food, fun atmosphere and most importantly, the people. Everyone looked great. I will elaborate more about it tomorrow, and perhaps upload some pictures as well. Don't expect much, because I think I kind of neglected the part on photo taking. Still, it was a great time spent reminiscing about the past four years together.

Good night!

Recent happenings

To kick things off, I'll probably talk about how I had spent the past few days of my post-exam.

Friday, 13 November 2009

It was the day that most of us are waiting for. Chemistry Paper 1 was the finale of the three-weeks long 'O' Levels Examinations. Prior to the paper, most of the people were already discussing their post-examination plans. Particularly about their status of their prom-shopping, or making plans for shopping trips after the paper. So I guessed it wasn't that tensed for most, but the anticipation for the paper is definitely there. Chemistry paper wasn't that conventional, that is not typical as you saw in those Ten-year series. I thought I would do some silly stuffs at the end, but I guessed you could still call me a fool for that grin. Walked with some of the guys in the class to the opposite site. There was a new bubble tea store, selling drinks at a competitive price of $1. Not that I'm that interested though, as I doubt I would be around that area so often anymore. Walked to the bus-stop with Yong Jian as we planned to head to my place after school. We missed one 854, and along the way we talked about school, teachers, times together. Had a great time playing FM3 and chatting with him. Around 3.30pm, he went off.

(FM3)

After which Jo came as we had agreed. He needed some ideas on a project he was working on. Along the way, we talked about past times and relived those moments. Stupid stuffs that we did together, how immature looking back. Part and parcel I guessed. Finished the work at around 7.30pm and he went home.

I guessed in life there are friends that come and go, but only the good ones stay with you for life.

Saturday, 14 November 2009

(2012, world ends. Mm.)

Hell yeah! First day of post-exam. I think you wouldn't believe me, but I did woke up at 7.00am and went down for a jog. I guessed the price you had to pay for not keeping fit for long are your arms aching for a straight two days. The day was planned for me to shop for my prom stuffs, and my first stop was Northpoint. Mum went for her scheduled TCM session as I waited outside after breakfast. As it was still too early and most of the shops weren't opened yet, mum and I decided to meet back after 15 minutes. I went to the arcade and literally threw four bucks down the drain. Quite fed-up as the machines were... Sushi!!! Hah, I hoped to quit vulgarities for good. Everything will be replaced with... Sushi. Sushi are nice, at least I think. Didn't managed to get the stuffs I wanted, so trained all the way to Jurong East IMM. And I didn't get anything there as well, so trained to Causeway point. Well, at least I got my lunch there. Mum went home afterwards and I trained to Dhoby Ghaut to meet Plato, her sister and Yong Jian. I was late, but quite on time actually. The movie starts at 3.00pm, so we hurried to Cathay for 2012. The movie was rather long, and hell the stuntman and CG is good. As always, lessons to take away is always cherish what you have, and the ones you love. The movie was rather long, and the credits rolled, many started leaving the hall. We decided to stay put and see if we could be the last ones to leave. We lost as we were chased out earlier. Walked around Plaza Sing afterwards and we found great food at great prices at the basement! :D I went off earlier and trained to AMK to meet mum for dinner, or at least for her dinner. In the end the day was futile and headed home empty-handed.

Sunday, 15 November 2009

Met up with my fraternal side family as my grandmother's birthday was round the corner. Come to think of it, it has been a long time since the whole, big family met for lunch. Laughters and chatters, along with the eating. Little tyrant, my 9-year old cousin was as playful as usual. And a lot heavier. Went to orchard area to continue my hunt for prom attire. I was thankful to have bought what I wanted and went to IMH with mum to visit my grandma.

Monday, 16 November 2009

(Where did the black one went?)

Went to Northpoint in the morning to get a pair of jeans. Had a quick lunch and trained to Bugis to meet CS. I got there early, and I waited. Shopped around as he wanted to get a gift. He sure is generous. Anyway, he went off at around 3.30pm and I met up with Wei Ping after that. He wanted to shop for prom attire, so I gladly accompanied. Still as humorous as ever, we went to Topman first. He picked a shirt, tried on and purchased it. That's cool. And there's this inside joke that I think it wouldn't be nice to share here. Next on the list was a belt, so walked around and yeah, he got it swiftly too. The day was done, so after my suggestion and his opinions, we trained to Yishun and took 812 to Safra Yishun. Pool for an hour, and there was one round where both of us didn't noticed that the black 8 went in. We were still hitting our stripes and solids. He finally enlightened me. Guessed I was the one who hit the 8 in previously, so lost that. Dragged ourselves to the bus stop and had a short chat with him on 85. Bade farewell.

Today,

I didn't have much plans for today. Much of the shopping was done, just that my pair of shoes weren't ready. So went to AMK, then to J8. Settled for a pair and had lunch with mum at Yoshinoya. Oh yeah, I think we saw my cousin there. Trained home first, and thought a lil' while for some plans during the afternoon before I head to aunt's place. Initially was thinking of riding to Yishun Dam area for photography, then squeeze in for a swimming session. Who knew mum came back before I commenced my plan, so... :( Did some more cleaning up for this blog and went live. Sheesh, I think its been a long time since I last spent so much time in front of the screen already. Aunt hasn't called yet, so I cycled to Safra Yishun for a swim session. There were a lot of clouds, and I think I need some time to get back my stamina. The water never felt so great before. No need to think about which TYS to hit next, which chapters to mug for. Just swim. Cycled back as the clouds thickened and went over to Aunt's place after that. Its been two weeks, I think, since I last went over.

Tomorrow?

I don't know. I don't have much plans currently, the only affirmative would be grad night @ 7.00pm. Meet-up, at last with the 205 guys.

Images from:

www.forzamotorsport.net

en.wikipedia.org

www.istockphoto.com

A toast to life

It seemed to be awhile since I last blogged, due to the hectic revisions and preparations for my 'O' Levels Examinations.
